What a great concert on November
19th, 2010 at 7:30 pm with Southern Bronze, an auditioned advanced handbell
ensemble, Dem Bones, a professional trombone ensemble, and internationally
acclaimed jazz artist Roger Pemberton, distinguished Professor Emeritus from
USC. We presented a variety of sacred music and styles including:
jazz, classical, gospel, and traditional majestic hymns. The combination and
blend of this fantastic trombone ensemble with over 80 gorgeous handbells
was outstanding. Thanks for all the hard work...
On May 6, 2011, at 6:30, "Southern Bronze" presented a "Dessert Theater"
type concert of Music from the Classic Movies of the 20th Century
-including costumed singers and dancers from each of the movies presented..
You could have been humming along with favorites like Gershwin, John Williams,
Broadway , the Disney Blockbusters (Aladdin ,Beauty and the Beast, etc..),
1940's swing hits and more recent hits -Pirates of the Caribbean and Star
Wars. This was a benefit for the Shepherd Center of Columbia - a senior
citizens center and included a fabulous dessert buffet before the
show.
